  • India India Jerry Shields, MD gave two named lectures; 1 for the Vitreo Retinal Society of India in the City of Mysore and another one for The Prasid Eye Institute in the City of Hyderabad.

Doctor Mashayekhi completed his Medical and Ophthalmology training at Pahlavi University of Medical Sciences (Shiraz, Iran). He did a Retina Fellowship in 1992 at Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (Tehran, Iran) where he continued to practice for several years as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and served as a member of the editorial board of Bina Journal of Ophthalmology and was a co-member of the scientific committee of the Center for Eye Research. During 2001-2002, Dr. Mashayekhi completed his fellowship in Ocular Oncology here at Wills Eye Hospital. He is currently a Staff Physician and Researcher on the Oncology Service working extensively in the field of ocular tumors. He is an International Member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has been co-instructor of several courses at the annual meetings of this Academy. Dr. Mashayekhi has written a text book on diseases of the retina and has authored or co-authored multiple scientific reports that have been published in major peer reviewed ophthalmology journals. The results of his continuing research have been presented at international ophthalmology congresses and meetings.
